Residence: Alanis spent most of her 18 years in Ottawa, Canada. She went to kindergarden in Laar, Germany, where she lived for three years. After finishing highschool, she moved to Toronto for less tha a year, and then went to Los Angeles, California. One day before the Grammy Awards, she left her apartmentand got rid of her stuff. In 1997, she moved back to a house in LA, near the Ghetty Museum.

Religion: Alanis was raised in a Catholic household and went to church every Sunday. Her church experiences inspired her to write Forgiven. Altough she doesn´t consider herself catholic, she´s very interested in the spiritual aspects of life.

Musical influences: When she was young, her favourites were ABBA and Annie Lennox. She said she was inspired to write so honestly in Jagged Little Pill after listening to Tori Amos Little Earthquakes. Seal is one of her favourites too.

Facts:

1. Wade, her twin brother, is 12 minutes older than Alanis.

2. Even though her first video was "Walk Away", her first single was "Too Hot".

3. When she moved back to LA, she was robbed at gunpoint!! "I was finally in a position where things weren´t working out. And it was good for me".

4. In 1993, Alanis co-starred the film "Just one of the girls", playing Matt Le Blanc' s girlfriend.

5. On March 8th, in Ottawa, Canadá, is the Alanis official day.

6. When she was young her favourite actress was Olivia Newton John.

7. In most of the shows of the Cant not Tour, Alanis introduced her band showing the audience baby pictures of them.
